What an incredible gift this year dedicated to St. Paul is for us and the entire Church!  Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict, has given us an opportunity to explore and better acquaint ourselves with the life and teachings of such a zealous apostle and follower of Our Lord.  And there are countless things to be gleaned from him - far more then we could ever discover in a year.

Here on Vocation Answers we thought it was a great time to look at vocations in the light of this great apostles' own life and teachings.

We all know his story so well.  On the road to Damascus the Lord spoke to Paul.  And there are so many similarities in our own vocational journey - times when the Lord could very well say to us, as He did to St. Paul, "It is hard for thee to kick against the goad."  Or in our own modern day terms - "You are fighting a loosing battle."   After Christ revealed Himself to Paul - He gave him instructions to go to Ananias, the priest, when he arrived in town.

Let us use this time to pray and meditate on the call of St. Paul.  And let us ask his intercession to have the same courage to give ourselves wholeheartedly when we hear Him say, "I am Jesus..."
